Details of Camp Gustin Memo from ALT
November 2, 2010
Good afternoon members of the Pine Tree Council Board,
While I am not completely familiar with the internal process underway, or the path of decision making authority, it was important for the Androscoggin Land Trust (ALT) to ensure that you had received the attached memo as you consider the future disposition of the Camp Gustin property. This memo was provided to local leaders and lays out a possible path forward that could provide some financial exit strategy for the property, ensure a suitable level of future public and/or scouting access, and protecting an important natural area within the Sabattus River watershed. We never heard follow up from that memo sent nearly one year ago.
ALT works in 19 communities in the Androscoggin River watershed, but I’ve attached a map highlighting our work in Sabattus, Lisbon, Bowdoin and Durham.
Our organization would be happy to answer any questions or discuss a conservation outcome with you.
Regards,
Jonathan
