January 28-Winter Festival Snowshoe Hike at Mt. Apatite
January 28, 2012
Join Dana Little, LA Trails volunteer, for a snowshoe on Mt. Apatite along all-season trails with mild gradients. There will be hiking regardless of the weather or amount of snow, and it will last approximately two hours, depending on the ability level and desire of the participants. During the walk, Dana will identify birds and animal tracks, and trail maps of the Mt. Apatite Park will be available for all hikers. Meet Dana at the Small Road entrance. Please bring your own snowshoes, snacks and water; and dress appropriately for the weather. Free and open to the public. Contact Margi Huber, Outreach Coordinator for more information. mhuber@androscogginlandtrust.org or 782-3202.
Directions: Meet at the Small Road entrance. From Minot Avenue (Routes 11 and 121), turn north onto Hatch Road and travel 1.5 miles. Turn right onto Small Road. Parking is at the end of Small Road (about .2 miles)
