Androscoggin Riverlands State Park Fall Foliage Paddle
October 9, 2010
Androscoggin Riverlands Paddle- Central Maine
Saturday, October 9
Time: 10:00am
Skill Level: Beginner
Androscoggin Land Trust will be leading the Fall Foliage Paddle at the State Park.
The paddle will take us by the Turner section of the new State Park. This section of the river is an easy, flat-water paddling experience. We will land at the picnic island in the mouth of the big bay that Bradford Brook comes into to stop and hear more about the Fall Foliage in the park. There is plenty of room for paddlers to beach around the island; it's shallow and sandy even when the river is high. The picnic area forms a natural amphitheater. And you can see up and down the river and into the bay. We will return along the same route ending at the Turner Boat launch.
Paddlers will need to bring their own boats, life vests, gear, and snacks.
Meeting location: Turner Boat Launch off Center Bridge Road in Turner.
