Alexander - Harkins Preserve, Auburn
This in-town preserve contains 30 acres of woods and fields adjacent to Sherwood Heights School and is used by students for nature study and educational opportunities. The property was donated by Joseph Harkins to ALT in 2000.

Hooper Pond Preserve, Greene
Four parcels totaling 195 acres consisting of wetlands and upland forests along Hooper Pond and Hooper Brook. The Hooper Pond area was identified by the Department of Conservation's Maine Natural Areas Program as being of statewide ecological importance due to its exemplary pond and streamshore vegetation and high quality wildlife habitat. ALT purchased the bulk of the preserve from Robert & Eva Philbrook and Pat Malmo & Richard Blaisdell in 2003 and 2004 with assistance from The Land for Maine’s Future fund. ALT was given 13.5 acres of wetland property by Barbara Bubier in 2003 and an additional 7.5 acres by Steve and Kathy Boucher in 2004.

LeBlanc Preserve, Canton
8 acres of land that includes 3500 feet of Androscoggin River frontage donated by Ray and Louise LeBlanc in 1998. The land is located just down river from McCollister Island.

Purinton Homestead Preserve, West Bowdoin
143 acres of fields, woods and stream protected as a nature preserve and for preservation of the rural landscape. The property was donated to ALT in 2001 by the Purinton Family. Motorized usage is prohibited.

Stevens Island & Rivershore Preserve, Canton
220 acres of important floodplain and upland forest habitat along the Androscoggin River protected as wildlife habitat. Donated to ALT by International Paper in 1998 as part of the FERC dam re-licensing project. Stevens Island contains two state rare natural communities: Hardwood River Terrace Forest and Silver Maple Floodplain Forest.

Spruce Mountain Rivershore, Jay
10.5-acres of wooded Androscoggin River frontage donated to ALT by International Paper in 1998 as part of their dam relicensing project.
